The Rockstar actor is not playing a vampire in Bloody Veer, says producer Siddharth Jain

There were reports that Ranbir Kapoor will play a vampire in Bloody Veer, but the film’s producer Siddharth Jain denies this, saying they have not zeroed on anyone yet for the main lead

“Bloody Veer is a vampire film. The leading actor is not yet finalised. Ranbir Kapoor is not in the film, it was all media speculation,” said Jain. Bloody Veer will be directed by Heeraz Marfatia and the shooting will start next year.

Thanks to the changing scenario and flexibility, Jain claims he is not facing any problems in casting department. “We are in talks with various actors and many of them have loved the script. I am glad that now stars are open to do vampire films. I am not facing any hurdle to cast actors, like I had to face during the casting of my zombie film Rock The Shaadi,” he said, adding, “I believe the stars have more faith in our creativity (now).”

Describing Bloody Veer a Twilight kind of film that starred Robert Pattinson as the vampire, Jain said that he is looking for fresh faces who will become India’s first vampire actors. “We are looking for young stars that are ideal for the role and they will be the first vampires in our Indian cinema,” he said.

Not worried about box office result: Deepika

Not worried about box office result: Deepika

Mumbai: Even as Deepika Padukone latest film Cocktail has garnered positive reviews for its music and look, the actress says she is not bothered about box office results.

"This film is very special to me. Personally it has been a journey for me as an actor as I have invested in this film physically, mentally and emotionally. I want people to enjoy and feel for the film as I do. I am not concerned about box office, I don't care how much money it earns," Deepika told reporters here.

The Homi Adajania-directed romantic comedy Cocktail stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and debutante Diana Penty, besides Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani. "For me money does not matter. I want people to enjoy the film. Critics and people enjoy it, in that case if the film earns money then its good," she said.

Cocktail is a story of three friends – Gautam (Saif), a flirt, Meera (Diana), a girl with desi values, and Veronica (Deepika) who is a bold and outspoken. The film is about how the friendship becomes confusing and love gets complicated. "The film is a journey of three friends of different personalities and then how love happens is a cocktail," Deepika said. Deepika was offered both the roles of Meera and Veronica but she chose to play the latter.

"This role was most challenging as I have come out of my comfort zone. I have taken a risk. When Dinesh Vijan (producer) asked me to pick up a role out of the two – Meera or Veronica. I thought I have already done something like Meera in Love Aaj Kal so why to repeat same thing, hence I chose Veronica. To play Meera would be similar and Veronica is new and challenging," she said.

Laila Khan's Is Not Killed

Laila Khan's  Is Not Killed

Mumbai, July 5 (IANS) Nadir Shah Patel, father of the missing Bollywood starlet Laila Khan, Thursday challenged the claim of her step-father Parvez Iqbal Tak that the actress, along with four of her family members, was killed near Mumbai in 2011.Speaking to a private news channel here, Patel said he did not "believe" Tak's claim that Laila, her mother Saleena Begum, siblings Zara, Imran, cousin Reshma and a domestic help were allegedly killed and their bodies disposed of somewhere around Mumbai in February 2011.Patel was responding to revelations Tak made before Jammu and Kashmir Police, which provided vital leads in her missing case.Tak, who married Saleena Begum after she divorced her husband Nadir Shah Patel, was arrested last month in Kishtwar, about 230 km from Jammu. He is suspected to be a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant.Patel said if what Tak claims was true, the Mumbai police should register a first information report and investigate the case. The Mumbai police denied any knowledge on the alleged murders, though a team was likely to leave for Jammu soon for further investigation.Last month, a police team went to Jammu to probe the case which has strong Mumbai and Maharashtra connections.Patel said Tak and his partner Asif Sheikh came regularly to their Santacruz home and he always felt uneasy in their presence."I always used to caution my family members to beware of them, I found their behavior suspicious, but they did not heed to me," Patel said.He admitted that the Tak-Sheilah duo was planning to dupe him in some property matters as Tak was found with a fake PAN card bearing his name (Patel's) name.Referring to a mysterious fire a few months ago which partly damaged their bungalow in Igatpuri, a hill-station in Maharashtra's Nashik district, around 130 km from Mumbai, Patel contended that there could a link between Laila and her family's disappearance and the fire, but declined to elaborate.Mumbai police Crime Branch Tuesday registered a kidnapping case against Tak. Patel said he was called by police for that.Laila, whose original name is Reshma Patel, was last seen in a Hindi movie "Wafaa" with Rajesh Khanna in 2008.According to sources, the Mumbai police found Laila to have questionable connections, which allegedly led to her disappearance from Mumbai in 2011.After tracking her mobile phone, her last call records showed her to be at her farm house in Igatpuri.Sources claimed that Laila was close to suspected Lashkar militant Tak through a Bangladesh-based suspected terrorist Munir Khan, whom she allegedly married.Jammu and Kashmir's Deputy Inspector General of Police Gareeb Das said that Tak, who said sharpshooters had been hired to kill Laila and her family, had been cooperating with interrogators and gradually revealing information on the case.
